LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS
NO. 1 OF 2026
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE TO SEA LOCK GATES, WHITEHAVEN HARBOUR
Notice is hereby given that due to routine annual maintenance on Whitehaven Sea Lock and flood defence system, the Sea Lock gates will be closed to all waterborne and pedestrian traffic from 08:00 on Monday 30th March 2026 until 20:00 on Tuesday 31st March 2026.
During the closure, vessels will not be able to enter or leave the inner harbour. Minor disruption may occur outside of these dates. However, this will be kept to a minimum and relevant information will be supplied as necessary.
A separate Local Notice to Mariners will be issued in due course to confirm temporary designations for fish landings during the maintenance period.
